The village the house is in is a beautiful hamlet called Cerignone , just a 5 minute drive from the E45 that runs from Perugia to Cesena. It's on the Tuscan side of the Tuscany/ Emelia Romagna border. Cerignone has a collection of houses, some permanent residents and some that are holiday homes. The house is at the top end of the village and is very peaceful, with a stunning view onto Monte Nero.

The house is part of a wonderful stone-built house at the top of a short mountain road, very accessible from the motorway but far enough removed to be a real retreat. Every room has wooden floorboards and beams, it is simple and rustic but comfortable and well equipped. Each room has a view over the mountain. The house has a living room with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen and dining room with both an oven and a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking. The bathroom is downstairs and has a shower, the water is heated with a boiler that can use either electric or a wood fire. Upstairs is a main bedroom with a double bed. With the peace and quiet at night, the mountain air, and the bedroom shutters closed it's impossible not to sleep very well indeed! There is also a spare room that can be used as another living room or as a spare bedroom with a single sofabed.
